5 June

5 June

Well, we've finally got a bit of rock and roll with the seas – not too much though, just enough to let us know we are actually on a ship. Seas are 8 feet with 42 knot winds. I got up early – we put our clocks back 1 hour last night – did my 1 mile around the deck then, like the good wife I am, brought John a cup of coffee from the Horizon Lounge. As I walked along Deck 12 with the coffee, the wind was so strong that it actually blew the top of the coffee out of the cup. We are having drinks and nibblies with our dining companions tonight on the lovely little deck at the stern our our Deck 11. The others like to call it our annexe. It is quite sheltered and we are heading into the wind. Have to collect nibblies from the Horizon at lunch time. Hopefully there'll be guacamole and cornchips today....Drinks and nibblies cancelled. They've tied down all of the deck chairs so we have nothing to sit on out there. Will have to make it another day. For those on next year's cruise – if you have internet credit for being platinum or better, make sure you book it in both names. We have $400 each. You have to actually buy a package and then they credit it back. We made the mistake of buying a package of $500 in John's name, assuming we still had another $300 to go. Not so. Had to be $400 in John's name and $400 in mine. You live and learn. Lots of shipping out there today. We counted eight at one stage but they're very hard to see because of the rain. We followed a container ship for a while. Sometimes we could see it, sometimes we couldn't. Hope the captain can see them!! Went close to winning the trivia today but close isn't good enough..We'll get those luggage tags yet.

Kerry, couldn't get on to Cruise Critic website today so hope you check this. Yes, they do have acrylic nails on board and the cost is $94 – ouch,

  1. Hi Gail - you're a gem! Thank you for checking. That sounds like the price of doing a full new set; refills for existing ones should be much less than that (I hope!). Anyway, that's the main thing I needed to know, so I'm grateful for you checking for me.
    :) Kerry

  2. Hi there Gail - how's it going?
Just thought I'd let you know I got my nails tizzied up today here in Melbourne - the TOTAL price for all this: half-leg wax, bikini line, large refill job on my nails, and polish = $73
I suggested my lady today should get a job on the cruise line! She'd be rushed off her feet!
